Alchemic Studio Competes in ArtSpark 2008

Dodge Ball Z Bursts into Beta!
That's right, Dodge Ball Z is officially in Beta! Check out the new screen shots under Current Projects. Stay "in bounds" for more news and media over the next few weeks.

Project Now Underway
Models are being modeled, maps are being mapped, and our code is being debugged! In short, the game (tentatively called Dodge Ball Z) is well on its way.

Calling All Artists!
As our Dodge Ball project gets underway, there are a few fun things that have to be done:

1) Alchemic Studio Logo
We need a logo that we can put on the site (instead of the generic title above), in the game (menu, load screen, etc.), and on our t-shirts.

2) Our Game Needs a Name!
Something that says Dodge Ball, like "Dodge Ball Z!"

3) T-shirts
Because of my responsibilities at EGaDS, I have will be getting t-shirts ordered for the Organization. If I can get the money from the Senate, I will also get our Alchemic Studio t-shirts. What should they look like? What size t-shirt do you wear? Let me know on the forum! Of course, we need a logo to go on the t-shirts before we can place the order. Logo voting will take place during the 2/27/08 General Meeting, upload your logo to the forum before then.

Excellente Mucho!
Super Great Progress with the 2/13/08 Meeting! A lot of ground was covered, to see just what was said, check out the forums.

So far the concensus is for a multiplayer MOD. This week is Design Week which means that those forums need to be overheating from the massive posting. If you missed the meeting, you can still contribute on the forum! So stop reading this and let people know what you want to see in our next MOD!

(OK, don't stop reading quite yet)
A couple of other notes:

1) Anthony and Ruben are now Assistant Producers with the task of creating the GDD (Game Design Document) that we will follow and update as we work this semester. Ideally the GDD will give us all focus and a place to look to when we need to see the game play, world setting, required assets, etc. Of course, we will all be the ones filling it out, but Ruben and Anthony are going to be writing out the skeleton of the document.

2) We are going to have Programmer Meetings soon. These will be led by Mike, our senior programmer. Stay tuned for the time and place for these work sessions.

Team Reconstruction
The infrastructure of our team is being redesigned. The new system will provide for more team work, more team communication, and more regular organizational practices.

With the growth of our team, a new semester, and a new project our core method of operations have become obsolete. In the interest of the team it was agreed that this change was necessary.

New Look
I changed the appearance of the site to bring it down from the previous space theme. This should more accurately illustrate the diversity of our current projects settings and themes.
